The BDSV e.V. can best be characterized as a trade group of the most important German arms manufacturers.₁ Through the association, the interests of more than 220 companies, like e.g. Heckler & Koch, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann & Co., Rheinmetall, Diehl Defence & Co. und thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, are being politically and publicly represented.₂
